Try your hand at willow weaving!​
After creating a willow trellis for my show garden at Harrogate Flower Show in 2019, I had a lot of enquiries about willow weaving workshops.​
​
As a result, a programme of courses is offered here at a variety of venues. Apart from in my own garden, I now offer workshops at a variety of venues in North Yorkshire including, Ebberston Studios, Helmsley Walled Garden, Danby Lodge & Sutton Bank, Helmsley Arts Centre, and Sledmere House & Garden in East Yorkshire.

Hopefully you can find something which appeals. All of them are suitable for beginners. If you have something in mind, please get in touch. I also run workshops on request at local village halls etc for private groups.

Sweetpea Obelisk​​​​
​
​​As ever, I'm running this popular workshop again in a number of locations. They are a maximum of about 7ft tall, but can be made shorter if you wish. The workshop is around 2.5 hours. Please wear closed toe boots/shoes.​​

Learn some basic weaving techniques and make a hanging basket. It could also be used as a bird feeder - or whatever you'd like it to be.

Wednesday 18 March - Dalby Forest Visitor Centre (near Thornton le Dale). Morning session.

​These swallows are quite simple and enjoyable to make. Workshops last 2.5 hours and you will have time to make one, or possibly two, in that time.

Two Day Basket and Trug Making​​​​

​​Are you interested in learning to make a larger basket? Or maybe a garden trug? ​​​This is a great opportunity to really get to grips with weaving over a two-day workshop.​

Small Baskets​​​​
​
During these workshops you will learn all the basics of making a basket, including weaving the base, ‘staking up’, weaving the sides and creating a border. If there is time, you could even add a simple handle.​
